Back at ya.
Someone on Pinterest pinned something that said something along the lines of when someone is in your dreams it’s because that person misses you.
I’ve dreamed about my late Grandpa a lot this week. I miss you too Gpa!!!! Xoxo
I hate when work-related calls come in and they say “sorry to bother you on a Saturday but….” then they ask/say something that could clearly wait. If you were truly sorry you wouldn’t have called in the first place.

poodledoodle
Took ol’ Ruby to the groomer today. Instead of looking her usual self of about 80% golden and 20% poodle she looks more like a poodle now. fluffy furry dog-fro on top. what is that about? Oh well. It will grow moppy next week- this too shall pass.

Jumping on the memory lane train….
I was a freshman in college at Ball State University in Muncie Indiana. I had only been at BSU for about a month at the time- but it seemed like longer since I had quickly formed strong lifelong friendships already. The dorms I was In (Lafollette, Brayton/Clevenger, 7th floor) were old and kind of nasty. But we had SO much fun. All of the freshman...

I'm a woman, hear me roar.
A conversation at work today reminded me of this old conversation I had with our old VP when our companies first merged. This was one of the first conversations I had with him. In lieu of actual names, we'll call him donkey.
Donkey: Ashlie, see that plant over there?
Me: Yes....?
Donkey: I need you to find another container that is bigger, and replant it and start watering it.
Me: Plants aren't really my forte. I'm clueless, and probably not the person for the job.
Donkey: (seems shocked) Really? I thought you would know all about planting?
Me: Because I'm a girl? ...well I don't.
Moral: Donkey needs to brush up on the fact that it is 2011 and men take care of plants also. And if you want someone in your office to re-pot a plant and water it regularly- they better be a hired landscaper because I have better things to do.

On Making Nice.
You know how when you were younger and fighting with your brother(s)/sister(s) your mom would say “I don’t care who did what- don’t come out of this room until you two can get along!”
Well government- The above picture is my mother speaking. And she will make you eat soap (I know- I’ve had some before) so just go and fix this shit (sorry, mom) stuff, will you?
Job shadowing...
Not really sure how I got this old.
I mean, I sometimes get asked if I’m a summer intern. If we’re at lunch with co-workers and we sit in the bar area, I’ve been asked by our server to see my I.D…. when I didn’t even order a cocktail. However, somehow, I just said my farewells to my 3rd intern, and I just had my first job shadow….
and WHEW. It was a relief....
Social Media is easy...
but it shouldn’t be used as a way for people to become socially lazy.
Whatever happened to a phone call or a freaking card? OR even a visit?
Today on facebook I saw that one of my “friends” (aka someone who I probably had at my 8-yr-old birthday party but haven’t talked to since HS 10 years ago) had went from married to single and had a few statuses written about her...
weird.
A student is coming in to job shadow me for the day tomorrow. It’s the daughter of a co-worker who wants to be a designer. I hope I don’t bore her so much she decided to become a nurse or something… I’m kind of nervous about it.
Needless to day, I won’t be on facebook, tumblr or google chat that much tomorrow. :)
Just livin' the dream.
I am just so in love with my husband. I’m a lucky girl.
(I know I know…. puke. but it’s my blog and I can write what I want to :))

It needs to be said.
And I surely don’t say it nearly enough. But I am one lucky lady. I just got back from a cruise vacation with my wonderful husband. It was our first one. We had a great time- but now know what we will do differently if we decide to go again (starting with having at least 2 pools on the ship and probably going during the winter so the weather is appreciated a bit more).
But we had a blast...
I like you. you’re sharp.
– While talking with a client today. Made my whole day.
Ashlie Unplugged.
The husband and I are hitting a jet plane Monday morning and a big ol’ cruise ship Monday afternoon. That’s right kids! WE ARE GOING ON A VACATION! This means: No iPhone and NO internet. I Can. Not. Wait! Just me and my TomTom in the middle of the ocean. Me with my SPF 15 and him with his SPF 60+ on a boat complete with a casino, waterslides and 9-hole mini golf. I’m going to do...
Is a housewarming gift registry tacky? →
“Critics can say what they want, but I’m a single 34-year-old woman with no children,” said Fink. “I have never in my adult life put my friends or family in a position to feel compelled to buy me gifts like you would at a wedding, baby shower or yearly kids’ birthdays. So why not?”
Shannon Kiley, 37, of Tarentum, Pa., just wants what she’s given others. “I have never been married or had kids...
I love what I do... sometimes.
But other times- You just wonder what in the heck goes through people’s minds.
While working with a client the past month or so, I’ve gathered that they’re incredibly needy- and only want me working on their stuff and not any of my other tasks. I’ve more than got their project under control and am ahead of schedule for the time they want it from the printer.
After they...
Ashamed.
I’m too embarrassed to admit this on my Facebook page so I will do it here because there are only like 15 people that read it….
But I am SO sad that Bravo’s “Bethany Ever After” AND “The Real Housewives of Orange County” are both over…now I don’t know what to watch.
Hello Auntie GP.
I’ve got nothin :)

Thanks for clarifying.
In a 5-page list of changes for a big document I’m putting together for work, one of the changes read: “Change the purple to normal purple.”
Oh. I get it. Silly me. I had unique purple there, and you wanted normal purple. Rookie mistake.
Also- for those of you who know me… I hate the color purple. I’ve grown to accept a deep almost black looking purple- but you wont...
on doing the right thing.
Sometimes you just get hosed.
On why I'll never make it as a mom.
So I had to take our sweet Ruby in today to get spayed. It broke. My. heart. Terrible. She was so excited walking in there (she gets excited about ice cubes too). We were in the room with the nurse and she was so happy wagging her tail and loving the attention. Then it was time for me to go and her to get taken back. She sat there and looked at me all sad like ‘why are you leaving?’...

28 YO!
So I’m going to be 28 on May 14. I’m quite excited. Some people my age start getting a little nervous as they’re in their upper twenty’s and it’s only a short ride until the big THREE-O.
As of now, thirty doesn’t freak me out; although, in two years this may be a very different blog post- full of tears and ‘shoulda, woulda, coulda’s. But for now- bring it.
My calmness could be because I...
bitter betty.
Sometimes I get so annoyed with certain people— people that I would say are nearest and dearest to me. And it REALLY is no fault of their own. I just get bitter or something, and just start picking apart everything they do and then I decide that whatever they are doing is irritating for various reasons.
Now. Why? Why do I think like that? I don’t have a clue. Perhaps I’m...
A delayed skill.
I’m going to be 28 years old in less than a month. I have finally learned the skill of saying “no” which means I’m finally liberated from 27 years of ‘pushover-slavery’. I’m not 100% a changed person just yet- I still can get roped in to things, and I still get hosed from time to time, but I can finally say ‘no’ (something my nieces and nephew...
It's official.
I just received a picture. She’s beautiful. :) and I love her!!
I didn't wan to post on facebook before the proud...
And since nobody really reads this I can say it here. #5 has arrived! I have yet to see a picture but I hear she looks just like her older sister did—and her older sister was THE. CUTEST. I mean it- even the dinner delivery guy in the hospital said she was the prettiest one he had seen in awhile. So she’s cute. And I’m one proud aunt. Love you #5. Can’t wait to hold you...
I'm voting for whichever president promises to put...
Until then- I’d like to thank one of my favorite aunties, for making an Ikea run for me so I can put some business up on Etsy. I appreciate it, and appreciate you. xoxo.
these are a few of my favorite things...
1. The very first sign of spring. When the trees have a little tint of green on them. Then all of a sudden you wake up and BAM! there are fresh green leaves every place you look. And Lilacs- ours are about to bloom. Can’t wait for those delicious things!
2. When my husband does something in front of me and still gets embarrassed. It’s the cutest thing. Ever.
3. When Ruby (our...
my morning...
I typically am at work between 8 and 8:30. Today I got here at 7:40. That is WITH pre-making a dinner in the crockpot (pepper steak). Also, because I was up a little earlier I actually got to see the sunrise. It was over the interstate- but it was still pretty :) AND when I got to work I was greeted very well because apparently a file had to be sent by 8:30 that someone forgot to send and I was...

@Fosterhood
You ‘follow’ me on this thing but I highly doubt you read it since I assume you’re just really nice and follow everyone who follows you.
Anyhow; if you are reading this, prayers out to you and Jacket. “tough day” doesn’t begin to describe it. I’ve had those ‘punched in the gut’ feelings and they are zero fun… Not sure how you do what...
I'm still standing.
Raise me, boss!
Glad this week is over!
